Well it's already another Monday! Time flies by pretty fast. So this week went pretty well. So Tuesday was a pretty good day. So we did another minicambio with the Elders from Quillón, and I stayed in the sector. I was with Elder Allred for the day (hes from Alaska so that's pretty cool). We were doing contacts and a lady let us in, and told us shes been sharing with the missionaries for over 30ish years! So we were pretty awestruck and had no idea what to teach her, haha, she knows it all. But then again she obviously doesn't understand something, more often than not if someone isnt progressing it's because they don't truly understand something. So the lesson went alright, but she wasn't there for the return appointment. Also that day we had a family home evening with Eliana, Roberto and Eduardo with their member neighbors. That also went really well, they really enjoyed it. I'm sure that they're gonna progress. And Eduardo is even going to seminary every day! And he's not even a member! So things are going pertty good for them.
Wednesday didn't go so well. Every appointment we had fell, but one good thing that happened was that we got into an old investigators house and taught a pretty good lesson. Thursday was your average missionary day.
So Friday was funny. Every once in a while the members just give us money and we make our own lunch. So on Friday the guy who gave us lunch has always given us money so we just assumed it would be that way, so we went ahead and bought stuff to make hamburgers. They turned out pretty good. But then right after we finished eating he called us and asked us when we were gonna come over! So we told him in like an hour (to give us some time to make room in our stomachs) then we had to go and eat a 2nd lunch. Boy was I full.
A little sidenote about Chile. So when it gets cold (its getting colder at nights, we've gotta go out in jackets sweaters scarfs and all) they don't have like central heating in the houses. They just have big stoves they light and it lets out a lot of smoke. So the nights here are usually pretty smoky. So there you go, a little Chilean tidbit.
Sunday was a pretty interesting day. I had to give a talk, which went pretty good I think. Also on Sunday we had a missionary work activity planned. SO the ward was gonna join up after the meetings and everyone was gonna go out and talk to their friends, do contacts, hand out pamphlets and such. But no one came! Not one member! That got me a bit frustrated. Really the mission work depends on the ward. And if the ward doesn't care, the mission work isn't gonna have much success. And on top of that our good investigators didn't go to church. Oh well the work continues.

Hello Everyone!
Hello everyone!
So things are changing for the better here in Chillán. So it's finally getting chilly here in Chile (I've been thinking of that one for like a week, I'm so witty). But yeah, were going out with jackets and long sleeves. And it has rained a couple times, but not hard. And I've heard that during the winter it rains super hard here. So we'll see how that goes. And things are getting better with the investigators too, we saw a couple miracles this week. And I took notes of things to say! So hopefully this letter turns out better than last weeks.
So this week started out pretty shaky. So it all started on Monday, it was 4:30, so we had an hour and a half left of Pday. So we took a bus from Centro towards home. And we ended up getting home at 6:20!! So the first bus turned out to go the wrong direction, which lef us in the campo, basically in the middle of nowhere. Then we had to wait for another, and we didn't get off at the right spot so they told us we had to get off and we were in the neighboring sector. Then we walked home. So I was a bit frustrated then, I was just tired but oh well. Then the rest of the day was good, we went 3 for 3 on having lessons with our appointments! So that felt good.
Tuesday I went to the sector Bulnes on a minicambio. That went well, Bulnes is a small little town 45 minutes away. I was with Elder Bird for the day. He's from Washington, he also swam and has a twin brother too! So that day was good.
So the whole day we thought we were gonna have interviews with the president on Thursday, but then Tuesday night the zone leaders called us and told us they were on Wednesday. So that was good, it's always great to hear from the president and the assisstants. That day was a good day. Later that day we talked to this lady who was a member, but then went inactive and became basically antimormon. So some pastor came to her one day and told her a bunch of lies about the church, and beause of that she stopped going. In that lesson we showed her she was wrong, and I was pretty frustrated. Not because of her but because of the person who told her all the lies. Ugh, makes me frustrated. Anyway, that same day we had a super amazing lesson. So it was with this family, the mom Eliana is a less active, and the dad isn't a member, the son either. So she stopped going to church because there was a big misunderstading, she wanted money from the church and didn't get it so she stopped going. It's really a pretty big story and I'm giving the condensed version. So we went there and we got in and she said "I dont want you to teach me anything, let's just talk" So we talked a bit, but then started teaching her. She then told us she realized she was wrong, and she ended up talking with us for like an hour. The spirit was really strong in that lesson, and I could really see how it worked on her, at the end she asked if we could come back the next day! So that was a really nice day.
Thursday we taught a lady named Pamela. She is living with her boyfriend, and we had to teach her the law of chastity (shes pregnant too). So she told us that she basically would never marry the guy shes living with. It's kind of a complicated situation. She doesn't want to split up or get married. So we'll see where it goes from there.
Then on Friday we had to do another minicambio, and I stayed in the sector this time. Also a pretty good day. Saturday also went well. Sunday not so good, we didn't have any investigators in church. But the work moves on. Today we had a zone activity, we played volleyball and made hamburgers.

Hola, Hola!
Hey everyone!
So another week brought to a close, this week went by kinda fast. So I think this letters gonna be pretty short, sorry. But I shall explain why...
So this week started with Tuesday, and we did a minicambio (a like comp exchange for the day). So I stayed here in our secor and had to lead it, that was pretty fine, haven't been here too long but I'm pretty used to it now. So that was alright, but basically every appointment we had fell and we ended up doing a lot of contacts. And it turns out that was just the beginning. So basically we've got a problem here: no one is there for a 2nd appointment. So the whole week ended up like that, we barely had any sit down lessons. We've been going from fallen appointment to fallen appointment. So, that made the week a bit rough. But as we know the work continues, and we are blessed after the trial of our faith.
So that's basically what happened this week. Pretty rough, but oh well. But hey, we had a couple funny encounters with drunks this week. Its funny, I saw a comic strip a missionary made and basically it was how the world sees us as missionaries. And one of the squares was how drunk guys see us, and the 2 missionaries were big bullseyes yelling Hey come talk to us! The funny thing is that's completely true.
Also we rescued a tiny cat from on top of a roof and took him home and gave him some food, haha. I'm not sure if I told you but there's already a cat that basically lives on our patio. Oh yeah and on Tuesday someone threw a rock through our window. Oh well.
Well about the investiagtors, we've got a couple that are doing alright. There's a lady named Ismenia and her son Mauricio. They're the neighbors of some recent converts. They' re progressing pretty good. And were also teaching this guy Miguel, who basically interepreted the Bible in his own way and so he has some pretty strange doctrine. But he said he would go to church but ended up not.
And today we had an activity and some missionaries came over and we played board games like monopoly and made spaghetti. So that was good too.
So I really can't think of more that went on this week. Once again I'll apologize for this letter being so short. But I guess what's important is that I'm fine and doing well right? I love you all, this really is the work of the Lord. I'll put on a couple pictures to make up for this short letter. Hope you all have great weeks!

8 Months old in the mission!
Hey!
Hope everyone had a fantastic easter and conference for the members out there. More about that later. So I'll start out with an interesting fact, today I turn 8 months old in the mission! Thats 1/3 done with the mission! Thats crazy how fast time goes by. So this week was pretty alright, it went by super fast.
So basically in terms of the sector this week was alli no mas (just alright). SO basically our problem at the moment is that we arent finding any of our investigators. Were doing a ton of walking to appointments, but they're never there. That's basically how the whole week went. So basically this upcoming week we'll be looking for some new ones.
So other events that happened during the week. SO on wednesday was my birthday! It was alright. A member gave us some sopaipillas, and that was about it, but they were tasty.
On Thursday was the zone conference. That was a good one. That's where like half the mission joins up to hear from the president. So now I'm going to the other half, so I don't really know anyone. But that was alright, the president was good, and it always helps the animo of the mission. (animo is like the morale?)
On Saturday and Sunday were the conferences! Lots of missionaries say its better than Christmas, because its 2 days long, haha. So that was good. It was a really good conference, I think my favorite session was on Sunday morning. I especially liked Elder Uchtdorfs and Elder Scotts talks that day.
So a couple other missionaries stayed the night in our house, that's always fun. We had some chips and salsa (found out I like salsa) and some little bean burritos (which were also alright). And today I got some really good news that the week after I left, Antonella, Katerina, and Sebastian got baptized! It always makes me so happy when people make that important decision in their lives.
Well thats about it. Sorry that it was so short, just not too much is going on and stuff. Just being missionaries. But Elder Grant and I both feel we´re gonna find success in the sector, we just gotta work hard. SO the church is true, I love this work, and I wouldn't be anywhere else.

Hello's from Chillan!
Hello everyone!
Thanks for all the wishes and stuff, its crazy to think that on Wednesday I'll be turning 20 years old! So this week has been good. I'll start from the beginning I suppose.
So on Monday we basically said bye to everyone, members, converts, investigators, etc. So then on Tuesday morning we had to report to the bus terminal at 8:30 in the morning. So then it was like a 3ish hour bus ride to reach Chillán. So I arrived and met my new comp. His names Elder Grant. He has like a year and a couple months in the mission. So we get along really well, no problems here. He's a cool guy. From Utah (obvious, haha). So that day we met a couple members, bought food, and did that kind of stuff.
So then on Wednesday morning we had our district class, where I met the rest of the zone. They're cool. So after that we had to take a 45 minute bus ride to a different sector to do some baptism interviews (Elder Grant was just made district leader). And we were there most of the day, but we got home and had a family home evening which went well.
So Thursday was the first full day I had in the sector. So the sector I'm in, El Libertador, is pretty big, I think its a tad bit smaller than my last sector. So I'm getting used to it, but with time I'll learn the sector. Friday was cool, we had a Noche de Capilla, a family home evening in the church. That was good, lots of people came. This wards pretty good, it seems like the missionaries have a lot of support from the members. So yeah, Sunday was good too. You know whats really wierd? So we share the chapel with another ward, it's the stake center. But what's weird is that first is priesthood/relief society, then sunday school, then sacrament last! How strange right? But yeah, sunday was good. We had 3 investigators in church.
So thats about all I have for you. The next week I'll talk more about the sector and stuff. So this weeks gonnabe pretty good. One, the birthday, we don't really have anything planned but we'll see what happens. Also general conference is this weekend. It's basically Christmas for us missionaries, and it's 2 days long. And the way it works here is we get to watch it, and in English too! So I'm super excited to hear the prophet and the Apostles of the Lord speak to us. Should be a good one.

Elder Mayberry is leaving Talca!
Hello everyone!
Hope everyone has had a stupendous week, ahha. So as the title says, we got the trasfers and I'm leaving! but more on that in a bit, more exciting, the things that happened this week.
So this week was another full week. Basically, we have a lot of investigators that are progressing. So we keep going to them, we don't really have time to do contacts, knock doors etc. But yeah, we've been full with them. So tuesday, Ricardo had his baptism interview, and passed! The only thing he wasn't sure about was getting persmission from his parents. So the next day we passed by and his mom had given him permission, but he was shy to ask his dad, he thought he'd say no. But then on Friday night we talked with Ricardo and his dad, and he too gave him permission!
Going back a bit Wednesday was truly crazy. That day we had 4 baptism interviews. So first was Carolina and Felipe. Both passed with flying colors. Then Antonella had her interview, and also passed! But she wants to be baptized the same day as her cousin (Katalina, who were also teaching, more on hr in a bit), the 28th. So that's good. Then we took a bus to Pencahue, 20 minutes away, to have the interview for Natalia. She also passed, but we weren't sure when the baptism would be. Saturday night we found out the dad had to work Sunday, so she'll be getting baptized the 28th as well. So if you have been keeping tally, thats 3 baptisms for the 21st and 2 for the 28th, with everyone passing their interviews! All of this leads up to Sunday.
So on sunday we had 3 baptisms! Of Carolina, Felipe, and Ricardo. I was especially glad to be there for the baptism of Carolina, she really has changed so much, and all for the better. And she said if Katalina wants to, she'd be willing to support her in her decision. So Katalina, Antonella, Sebastian, and Natalia are all getting baptized the 28th! But wait! Big news from this morning, I'm getting moved!
Yup, so this morning we were anxiously awaiting the call of the transfers. Sure enough, I'm getting transfered! So I won't get to see the baptisms on the 28th, but oh well, that's how the Lord's work is. So I'm getting moved south, closer to Concepcion, to a fairly big city named Chillan (pronounced chiyan).So I'm excited for the move, and for the things to come. And the only thing I know about my comp is his name is Elder Grant. So yeah, that's the news from here in Talca. The rest of today will be spent saying goodbye to members, converts, investigators,etc. It'll be tough, but the Lord doesn't need me here anymore. And I'm ready for the change. So then we had a Family home evening, with a bunch of new converts and Katalina at her house. There we talked to the mom about her baptism. And she said if Katalina wants to, she'd be willing to support her in her decision. So Katalina, Antonella, Sebastian, and Natalia are all getting baptized the 28th! But wait! Big news from this morning, I'm getting moved!
Yup, so this morning we were anxiously awaiting the call of the transfers. Sure enough, I'm getting transfered! So I won't get to see the baptisms on the 28th, but oh well, that's how the Lord's work is. So I'm getting moved south, closer to Concepcion, to a fairly big city named Chillan (pronounced chiyan).So I'm excited for the move, and for the things to come. And the only thing I know about my comp is his name is Elder Grant. So yeah, that's the news from here in Talca. The rest of today will be spent saying goodbye to members, converts, investigators,etc. It'll be tough, but the Lord doesn't need me here anymore. And I'm ready for the change. Another good week. 9 investigators at church!
Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well this week. So things have been going good this week, we've seen a lot of progress here.So I didn't take too many notes of what happened, and we've been feeling really busy this week.
So basically we've got a lot of good investigators at this moment. And so were basically going from appointment to appointment like madmen. Basically we've got a lot of people close to baptism all at the same time. So we've got Carolina (lady we taught for a while, then she went to Constitucion then recently got back after the earthquake) Margarita (her aunt), Felipe and Sebastian (sons of Margarita). We can tell that the earthquake affected them, becasue they are all progressing very well now. Carolina and Felipe have baptism dates for the 21st, and Margarita and Sebastian have dates for the 28th. So they're all progressing very well.
We also have Ricardo. He's the 13 year old kid we found a couple weeks ago. He too is progressing well with a baptism date is for the 21st.
Also we have Antonella and her cousin Katalina. Antonella is the girl that's been an investigator for a long time, but she seems to be progressing towards baptism. Her cousin is really good too.
Apart from them we have other investigators that are also progressing. So all this work came to Sunday and we had 9 investigators in church. Not too shabby. So yeah, things are going pretty good at the moment. We are gonna have 5 baptism interviews during this week, and I'm pretty sure we'll finish this month with like 7 or so baptisms if all goes well. But the thing is that changes are coming up and I'm pretty sure I'm gone. I will have been here for 6 months. So we'll see what happens with that.
So other things that happened this week. There was a pretty big aftershock, like a 7 or something. But it was pretty short. like 6 seconds of big shaking. No joke with the big one the strong shaking lasted at least a minute-minute and a half. So yeah, things are still shaking here quite often.
Also on friday we met with 2 area Presidencies in the stake center-general authorites (leaders of the church). So that was cool, they gave us some good talks and helped boost our drive to work.
And last night there was some electricity failure in some part in Chile and all of Chile was left without lights for a bit. So that was cool. We could see sooooo many stars during the night, it was nuts.
And so yeah, that's about it. If all goes well I'll write you next week after 5 baptisms on Sunday. But I'll let you know how it all goes. Love you all lots, thanks for all your support. The church is true! Talk to you next week.
